US Men's National Team player, Shalom Suniula traveled to Tulsa following the Eagles match against the Maori All Blacks in Chicago. Suniula took up the coach's whistle and put the boys through a great training session providing useful and fun individual and team skills and drills. The focus of the training was identifying the "Why's" of our pattern and attack. Shalom's rugby IQ was apparent during the session as he was able to turn the light on for many of the boys who have been struggling to pick up our new game plan.
On the field Shalom is a half back for the Eagles 7s and 15s and has most proudly worn the USA strip in the 2015 World Cup (15s) and the 2016 Olympics (7s). When he's not touring with the Eagle's, Shalom plays for the Seatte Saracens and works with Atavus Rugby helping to grow the game in American. It was truly a pleasure to have the opportunity to learn from and connect with such a great player, coach and all around guy.
Tulsa RFC wishes to extend our deepest thanks and gratitude to Shalom for taking time out of his busy schedule to come be a part of Tulsa Rugby, and his passion for developing the game from the grass roots up to the highest levels.
