Saturday February 25th, the Tulsa Women took the field for a friendly match against a shorthanded DARC side. In the true spirit of rugby, Tulsa loaned players to the ladies of DARC and agreed to 20 minute quarters. Play from Tulsa was dominant with the first score coming within the first 2 minutes of the match. All phases of attack were effective and organized. The back line was lead by Rose Branscum-Anderson at Fly Half and Neariah Persinger dominated the scoreboard at Fullback.
Defense was exceptional with the packs work rate being encouraged on by captain and scrum half KC Whitney. The pack won the majority of scrums and demonstrated excellent defense during line outs. In all, Tulsa Scored 15 tries and 2 conversions for a final score of 79-0. Player of the match honors went to Shavonna Rucker, who played an excellent match defensively, in addition to creating several opportunities through offensive runs and off loads in contact, and Shelby Cannon (loaned to DARC), for her aggressive defense, and try saving tackles at full back.
Tulsa next faces cross state rivals OU on the 11th of March in Norman.
